Wad Wizard Choke Tubes

Working outside the long-standing premise that shotgun chokes "funnel" pellets through a bore constriction to achieve pattern density; the folks at Impromarketing Inc. have developed the WAD WIZARDŽ Choke Tube System. Producing a revolutionary concept in shotgun patterns.

On paper Funnel Chokes "appear" to do a pretty good job. In reality the paper only presents a 2 dimensional look at your shot pattern. The fact is there is an often-unrealized third dimension to the shot pattern, which is the shot depth, many times referred to as the shot string. In some instances the shot string can be 10-12 feet in length. So in reality the pattern you see on paper doesn't translate to the pattern that would hit a crossing shot on a mallard. Often times it's only a portion of the actual shot charge that hits the live, moving targets. Thus the deception of funnel chokes.

Enter Wad WizardŽ Technology with its patented wad retarding system developed to produces consistent patterns with shorter shot stings. For the hunter this means more "slap down killing power". From the technical side the Wad WizardŽ "retards" the wad to seal the muzzle as long as possible, separates the shot from the wad to minimize shot string length and minimize the gas turbulence which will otherwise increase pattern width and height which create irregular "poor" patterns. The Wad WizardŽ keeps the shot charge at bore diameter consistent throughout the length of the barrel and out of the muzzle. Conventional constriction or "funnel chokes" squeeze down on the shot charge within the wad which leads to separation and elongation of the shot string as well as deforming pellets within the shot cup wad. This places incredible stress on the barrel when large, hard shot is used such as steel and tungsten-iron.

The performance of any Wad WizardŽ tube may be varied for different ranges and uses by choice of the shot shell size/length used. You can obtain dense, evenly distributed patterns with all shell lengths, loads and load velocities, all sizes and metal types of birdshot, and all buckshot sizes. Best results come from ammo using one-piece plastic shot cups, especially tough steel shot one-piece wads. The general "Rule of Thumb" with the Wad WizardŽ; the shorter the shell length and the larger the shot size, the tighter the pattern. We recommend patterning your gun at the ranges you typically shoot using various size shells to achieve the pattern you desire.
